Great Food for the Big Game!

A new article has been posted on the TAM Retail blog by Bruce Lode:

So the big game is coming; it is Super Bowl time again!  So I thought I would share a chili recipe that I made recently that was a big hit.

Dog Gone Good Chili

This recipe is an adaptation of a proven chili recipe for use in chili dogs.  I simply have added good quality dogs sliced into coins and eliminated the buns.

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1 onion, diced
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. white or cider vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. tomato ketchup
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. mustard
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 cup water
1 bottle of your favorite beer
4 good quality hot dogs

Directions:

Brown the beef, add onions, and cook until the onions are transparent.  Break up the beef as much as possible.  Add the chili powder, water, ketchup, mustard, and half of the beer (the other half is for the chef).  Using a potato masher, mash up the mixture until the ground beef is similar to small pebbles.   Add all of the other ingredients and stir to combine.  Bring to a boil then reduce to simmer for 20 minutes. Cut the hot dogs into coins about a quarter inch thick.  Add hotdog coins to the chili and cook for 10 more minutes, or until the desired consistency.

Serves: 6-8 normal appetites.

Enjoy this chili and the big game!
