Password Security and You

A new article has been posted on the TAM Retail blog by Sarah Wilson:

With technology always pushing new limits with innovative creations and growing software, hardware, and Web applications, it has become crucial for people to pay close attention to security measures.  One way to ensure your business, whether small or larger, is to make sure all of your system’s passwords meet security compliance mandates.

PasswordSecurity

According to recent reports, the most commonly used password of 2013 was “123456”, followed by the ever-popular “password.”  With the amount of cyber attacks increasing, it has become more important than ever that you do not make it easy for people to guess your passwords.  When installing your TAM software, and any related software for your business, make sure you educate yourself on what a strong password should be first.

For further information, be sure to check out this article that covers why people choose to use weak passwords and why this trend needs to change:

“‘Password’ no Longer the Internet’s Worst Password.”

Remember;  though it sounds heartwarming, your dog’s name does not make for a strong password.  Keep yourself secure!

As always, if you have any questions regarding the security of your TAM software, or any other questions, be sure to Email us at sales@tamretail.com or call us at 888-843-1476.
