Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Does TAM have logging mechanisms in place in order to track user activities?

Answer: To enable TAM event logging, in the Setup program of TAM Office, the merchant must define the folder where the log file will be saved. These daily logs are stored as simple tab-delimited text files that are easily reviewed. The format of the file name of the log is YYYYMMDD.TXT where YYYY is the year, MM is the month, DD is the day.

The event log contains the following information:

  • Date/Time Stamp
  • Computer Name
  • Location Number
  • TAM Serial Number
  • User Name
  • Register Number (if applicable)
  • Station Number (if applicable)
  • Associate (if applicable)
  • Application Name
  • Module Name
  • Event Status
  • Event Message
